The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Tea Trio Review

They say that one of the signs you're slowly (but surely) becoming a tita is when you spend more than five minutes browsing the tea aisle of the supermarket. I spent ten. And I left with The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Tea Trio. Find out more about the product and what I think about it after the jump!

I was on my way to get a box of tissues when the little tita in my subconscious decided it would be nice to see what the tea offerings at the local supermarket were. The force that actually drove me to pick up the CBTL Tea Trio was the fact that it was CBTL. Like, I know how much these cost per cup at stores so being the grepa student that I am, I got a pack knowing that it would save me hella money in the long run or, you know, after three cups of tea.

Being a tea noob, I really don't know what to expect. Kontento na ako sa Lipton, ano pa ba hahangarin ko? Since the only tea I've drank before was yellow-label Lipton, I got the English Breakfast variant of the Tea Trio (which also came in Peppermint and Chamomile, btw) so I could pretend to be able to tell the two apart. I'm actually hoping that this would somehow taste radically different. But idk how that would be so, since all of them are just dried up leaves.

It's nice to note that these come individually-wrapped in foil so you won't have to worry that your tea would go bad if you misplaced the packets in your super messy closet *personally gets offended by own statement* It's also a very pleasant surprise that the tea bags are fabric, making you feel special kasi 'di siya paper lang hahaha. Also this is CBTL. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. It has "Tea Leaf" in the brand name. This better be good.

It says at the back of the packet that every tea bag should be steeped for about 3-5 minutes. But I seriously lost track of time since I was so busy trying to take pretty photos for the blog. I usually drink my tea with milk but for the sake of testing, I didn't. I took a few sips - and I tried my best to sense a difference. I didn't. So I decided to pour in my milk, since that's how I drank it anyway. And to my surprise it now tasted different. It kinda reminded me of how bubble milk tea tasted so that's a big plus. It also takes a lot of weight off my back knowing that I didn't throw away some of my allowance for some expensive tea.

Using my Regret-to-Sulit Meter™, here's how this product fared:

Providing satisfaction for my tea-hungry soul (naks! deep) without the guilt of throwing away my allowance for something not really worth it, it got a Sulit-minus-Regret score of 4 which is okay - though not mind-blowingly great. This is just tea after all.

So, for The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Tea Trio in the English Breakfast variant, it's zero regret with a dash of sulit! ✌
